These studies ask what happens when an inward experience meets an outward system: a social expectation, a physical boundary, a machine-readable surface. They remain abstract enough for more than one reading.

Unequal Tempo
Material proposal: Charcoal, graphite and wax crayon on pale linen
Different rhythms occupy the same field without dividing it into opposite halves. A stuttering accumulation, a slow rubbed mass and a fragile contour keep interrupting one another. Some marks remain continuous across these changes: the presence within the image is not replaced each time its rhythm shifts.
The surrounding strokes press inward, suggesting that an internal rhythm is never entirely separate from the conditions around it. The work asks how a body can retain its own pace within environments organised around consistency, productivity and easy measurement. It offers neither a diagnosis nor a simple passage from darkness into light.

A Body Negotiating Space
Material proposal: Pigmented cement and pale mineral casting mixtures
A compact body and an enclosing band share a single volume. The boundary is not merely outside the form: it participates in the shape the body is able to take. Uneven pressure becomes a way of reading the encounter between personal movement and the structures that organise it.
The proposed mineral material gives this negotiation weight without turning the body into a spectacle of damage. Broad connections, blunt edges and an incomplete opening suggest persistence rather than a heroic escape. This is an image-based casting proposal; strength, release and the relationship between mixtures remain questions for physical trials.

What the Machine Sees
Material proposal: Charcoal, graphite points and wax crayon on cotton paper
An uncertain figure meets its own approximate description. Across the field, continuous gestures become points and disconnected contours. Some ambiguity disappears; other passages acquire a certainty the first figure never possessed. The image imagines machine vision as a translation rather than a neutral mirror.
A scan may describe a surface while leaving the circumstances of that surface unavailable. Inference can close a gap without recovering what once occupied it. The work asks what becomes visible when a body is made readable, and what is lost when a description is mistaken for the whole. The point field is a visual metaphor, not a record of an actual scan.

A Copy, Not a Return
Material proposal: Pale and graphite-grey pigmented cement
Two related bodies stand apart. Their broad proportions agree, yet folds, layers and small surface traces refuse perfect alignment. Neither is presented as an authentic being opposed to a deficient imitation. Instead, their differences make the act of translation visible.
Replication can carry a shape forward without returning it to the conditions of its first appearance. The proposed pair considers a future in which recognition, scanning and manufacture are closely linked, but sameness remains incomplete. These volumes are digital casting concepts, not evidence of a finished scanning or reproduction process.

The images are digital studies. They propose future material experiments rather than document completed objects or real scans. The next step is to test what can move from an image into a model, a mold and a physical form.
